Fall Ribbon Placemat

Fun and festive decor for family and friends of all ages!

Intermediate Fall Ribbon Placemat project
  • Supplies:

    You'll Need:
    • 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon - Grey, 4 yards
    • Boye Pom Pom Tassel Maker
    • White Placemat
    • Scissors
    • White Yarn
    • Thread
    • Ruler
    • Straight Pins
    • Sewing Machine or Fabric Glue

Step 1

Starting at the center of the bottom edge and working left, measure 1” form the lower edge and start to pin until 2” from the short edge.

Step 2

Fold the ribbon upward. Measure 4 1/4” from the bottom edge and fold the ribbon to the right. Measure 4 ¼” from the short edge and fold the ribbon downward. Measure 2 ½” from the lower edge and fold the ribbon to the left crossing over the ribbon creating a square. Measure 1 ½” from the outer short edge folding the ribbon upward. Repeat step 2 on each remaining corner. Sew or glue into place.

Step 3

Make four 1½” pompoms following the manufacturer instructions. Trim each pompom to 1”. Attach a pomp om to each corner of the placemat.
