Pencil Hair Bow

Get ready to go back to school by making this adorable Pencil Hair Bow!

Beginner Pencil Hair Bow project
  • Supplies:

    You'll Need:
    • Ruler or Measuring Tape
    • Scissors
    • Hot Glue Gun
    • Barrette

Step 1

To begin, cut two pieces of yellow ribbon to 8 inches long. Cut one piece of yellow ribbon to 3 inches long and one to 2 inches long. Heat seal all the cut ribbon ends.

Step 2

Take an 8 inch piece, fold it in half and make a crease to mark the center. Bring one end over to the center mark and glue. Bring the other end over to the center mark and glue, creating a bow. Repeat with the other 8 inch piece.

Step 3

Place one bow on top of the other to make an X and secure with a dab of glue.

Step 4

To make the pencil tip, cut 1.5 inch pieces of the black and antique white ribbon. Glue the black on top of the white near the end, overlapping only 1/4 inch. Leaving 1/4 inch on the white end straight, cut both sides at an angle to form the point.

Step 5

Take the 3 inch piece of yellow ribbon and glue on top of the white straight piece to create the pencil.

Step 6

To make the eraser, cut a 3/4 inch piece of pink ribbon and glue to top of other end of the pencil. Cut a 1/4 inch piece of grey ribbon and glue on top of the pink ribbon.

Step 7

Glue the pencil onto the bow. Take the 2 inch piece of yellow ribbon, wrap it around the middle of the pencil and glue.

Step 8

Glue the pencil bow onto the barrette.
