Beginner Ribbon Pom Mobile project
  • Supplies:

    You'll Need:
    • Grosgrain Ribbon - various colors & widths
    • Single Face Satin Ribbon - various colors & widths
    • Double Face Satin Ribbon - various colors & widths
    • Boye Pom and Tassel Maker
    • Wooded embroidery or quilt hoop 18”
    • Yarn, assorted colors to match
    • Measuring Tape
    • Scissors
    • Glue Gun

Step 1

Cut all streamer ribbon into 36” pieces (note hanger and interior ribbon included)

Step 2

Tie each streamer onto the wooden hoop in a double knot until you have filled the hoop

Step 3

Make poms according to the Boye manufacturer’s instructions or use your favorite method. Tip: the key to a great pom is a tight center. If using yarn that contains wool you may want to add a piece of acrylic yarn to tie knot since wool may break.

Step 4

Secure poms, knots, and ties with glue gun.

Step 5

Glue the interior ribbon piece (one end cut on the diagonal) inside the hoop to cover and secure knots

Step 6

Cut 2 hanger pieces 1 ¼ yds long and tie each end equal distance onto hoop and double knot. Tie the last ½ yd of hanger ribbon to the center where the 2 ribbons meet to tie up.
